How do heat pumps work?
An air source heat pump extracts energy from the outside air - even in cold weather and transfers it inside to heat your home or swimming pool water. They work similarly to a refrigerator, but in reverse, using an environmentally friendly refrigerant to absorb and release heat through compression and evaporation.
What size unit do I need?
The size of the heat pump required (usually the KW) meaning the power required. Will depend on the size of the pool or the home that it is being installed for. We will be able to advise you on the exact size and specification required once have an idea of the space and area you are working with. Don't forget you will also need outside space for the heat pump with ample airflow - again we will factor this in to the estimation for you.
Are heat pumps suitable for all homes and pools?
Heat pumps are suitable for nearly every pool, the only variable will be the size of the pool itself. Nearly all homes are suitable but a well-insulated home will benefit the most.
Can I install a heat pump on an existing pool?
Absolutely. We regularly retrofit pool heat pumps to existing systems. It’s a great way to upgrade to more energy-efficient heating system.
Do heat pumps work in cold weather?
